Boris | Vita | Films | Editing | Press | Gallery | Shop | Links | Mauja | Contact   Nach Abschluss des Studienganges Film- und Fernseh-Design an der Fachhochschule Dortmund und Präsentation seiner Kurzfilme NASSRASUR und PROJEKTIONEN auf zahlreichen Filmfestivals weltweit ging Boris Schaarschmidt in die USA, um am American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles zu studieren. 2007 schloss er mit einem MFA in Regie ab. Ausgezeichnet mit einem Jahresstipendium des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) und dem Pat Hitchcock O’Connell Scholarship für sein AFI Projekt 1916 hatte Boris die Möglichkeit zwei Abschlussfilme zu drehen: GREEN und SPENT. Beide Filme liefen weltweit erfolgreich auf Festivals und SPENT gewann unter anderem den BET Lens on Talent Award 2010. Zur Zeit führt Boris Regie bei der Web-Serie ERNIE'S GIRLS und ist in Post-produktion für das Drama MALAIKA, während er seinen ersten Spielfilm MAUJA auf den Weg bringt. Demo DVD auf Anfrage: info@borisschaarschmidt.de After earning a B.A. in Cinematography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund, Germany, and successfully screening his short films WET SHAVE and PROJECTIONS in numerous national and international film festivals, Boris Schaarschmidt came to the US to attend the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. He graduated in 2007 with an MFA in Directing. Awarded with an annual scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and with the Pat Hitchcock O’Connell Scholarship Award for his AFI project 1916, Boris was given the opportunity to direct two thesis films: GREEN and SPENT. Both films did very well in the festival circuit and amongst others SPENT won the BET Lens on Talent Award 2010. Boris is currently directing a series of webisodes called ERNIE’S GIRLS and is in post-production for the drama MALAIKA, while getting his first feature length script MAUJA on the way.
